Cosopt Drops Pharmacological action:
Cosopt Eye Drops Combined preparation has anti glaucoma effect. Each of the components lowers intraocular pressure by reducing the secretion of aqueous humor. Dorzolamid – carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, decreases the secretion of the intraocular fluid (slowing down the formation of bicarbonate, followed by the weakening of the transport of Na + and water). Does not cause spasm of accommodation, miosis, night blindness. Timolol – a nonselective beta-adrenoceptor blocker with little internal MCA. When applied topically lowers intraocular pressure by reducing aqueous humor formation and a small increase in its outflow.
Cosopt Drops Indications:
otkrytougolnaya (including recycled) glaucoma, pseudoexfoliation glaucoma, intraocular hypertension.
Cosopt Drops Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, asthma, bronchospasm, bradycardia, AV block II-III century., CHF II-III century., Cardiogenic shock, chronic renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml / min). C care. Hepatic failure, pregnancy, childhood.
Cosopt Drops Side effects:

Cosopt Drops Timolol:

Cosopt Drops Dosage and administration:

Cosopt Drops Special instructions:
In the period of treatment should be regularly measured intraocular pressure, control the function of tears allocation, the integrity of the cornea, the visual field – at least 1 time in 6 months. Long-term therapy is necessary to monitor the concentration of K +, serum electrolytes, pH of blood, heart rate, blood pressure and other parameters of cardiac activity. Be careful when driving at night, limit the activities in low light. Can be used by patients who use hard contact lenses of polymethylmethacrylate. Preservative contained in the product may be delayed for soft contact lenses, so lenses should be removed before instillation and put on no earlier than 15 minutes after it.
Cosopt Drops Interaction:
Anti glaucoma drugs (beta-blockers, pilocarpine, dipivefrin, karbahol) enhance the effect. With the simultaneous application of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and beta-blockers into possible additive effect with regard to systemic effects.
